Medicare Plan L - Medigap Plan L
Medicare Plan L is one of the eleven Medicare standardize plans approved by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
This Plan L covers all the plan basic services found in Plan A. However, all basic benefits are covered at 75% except 100% coverage is still paid for basic hospitalization and preventative care. In addition to basic services the plan pays 75% of the Hospital deductible of Medicare Part A as well as 75% of the Skilled Nursing benefit up to a maximum out-of pocket limit of $2310 in a calendar year. When this limit is reached all approved expenses are covered at 100%.
Medicare Plan L Coverage Includes: All of Plan A as follows:
- Maximum Combined Out-of Pocket limit of $2310
- 100% Medicare Part A Co-insurance for Hospitals
- 100% on all preventative care services
- 75% on all other Basic services
Additional Benefits:
- 75% of Part A Hospital Deductible
- 75% Skilled Nursing Facility Co-Insurance
This plan provides a lower maximum out of pocket expense compared to Plan K with a higher Coinsurance paid their by reducing risk of large maximum out of pocket expenses.
