Medicare Plan F

Medicare Plan F is the most comprehensive coverage of all 11 Medicare plans effective June 1, 2010 under the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA). Each plan benefits are standardized for easy understanding of plan benefits. Plan F has all basic benefits coverage as well as Hospital Part A Deductible, Skilled Nursing Coinsurance Benefit, Medicare Part B Deductible, Medicare Part B Excess Charges and Foreign Travel Expenses. Plan F Coverage is different from Plans C, D & G by one or more of the following:

Part B deductible Coverage
Medicare Excess Allowable Charges

Plan C Covers everything Plan F covers except Excess Allowable Medicare Charges
Plan D Coverage has no Part B Deductible coverage or Excess Allowable Medicare Charges
Plan G Coverage has no Part B Deductible benefit

When you compare premiums between plan F and Plans C, D & G, monthly premiums are often:

Without significant difference for plan C
Approximately $20 to $35 more than plan D
$12 to $16 per month more than plan G

Plan F again has the most comprehensive coverage and is the most recognized and popular plan. The majority of Medicare Supplement buyers prefer not to pay anything more than their premium each month.
